Permanent Part-time Clerk to Governors (Level 2)

BS 5 Business Support Level 2   £19,171 (pro rata)   £9.94 per hour

Kirkbride Primary is a small community school within reach of both Carlisle and Wigton.  We are extremely proud of our school which has a forward thinking approach with the children at its centre. Our most recent Ofsted Inspection (February 2018) rated us as ‘Good’.

The Governors wish to appoint a permanent part-time Clerk to Governors to join our hard-working team.

The Clerk to Governors will be accountable to the governing body, working effectively with the chairperson of governors, and with the Head Teacher and other governors. The clerk will be responsible for advising the governing body on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. He/she will secure the continuity of governing body business and observe confidentiality requirements.  The Clerk will manage the organisation, recording and administrative work of the Governing Body. Training will be offered if necessary.


Approximately 4 Full Governor Meetings, 9 Committee Meetings are held per year plus other duties. The majority of meetings take place on Mondays (early evening).
