County Gymnastic Competition (Level 3) - Key Steps 2 - Penrith Leisure Centre
Our Key Steps 2 team got through to the County Finals on Thursday 28th March. This was a first for Kirkbride Primary School so everyone was proud and thrilled for the children that had reach to this competition, The compettion was at Penrith so it was an early start to the day. The children arrived all smiles and received their free bags and each child were given an Allerdale T shirt to wear. Sammy the coach took the team into compete and was very proud to see how well the children did in their routines, After the competition there was a Gymnastic display from Cumbrian children that had reached a very high standard within the Country, The results were then annouced, we came 7th which we were pleased with. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day and were very well behaved and great ambassodors for the school. The children and staff would like to thank Sammy for her time in Coaching the children and the parents and relatives who took their time to come and support the team. Well done Team Kirkbride.
Short Tennis Competition (level 1) - Year 3 and 4 - Nelson Thomlinson Secondary School
Eight children (Two teams) took part in the Short Tennis Competition on Thursday 21st March 2019. This competiton is a favourite of the schools as we have been in the County finals a couple of times. The children play indivually in this competiton and it was great to see their team members support them when they played. One of our teams came second in a group so were nearly there !! Another great morning for the children involved.
Quick Sticks Competiton (Level 2) - Years 3 and 4 - Wigton Rugby Club
A team of six players took part in the Quick Sticks competition on Thursday 7th February 2019. This competiton was a level 2 competition so the level of play is very high. Alot of schools from the Allerdale region competed in this too. Our team played well and were praised for their team work. We did not get through to the County Finals but it was a great experience for the children involved,
Boys Football Competiton - Years 5 and 6 - Sands Centre , Carlisle
Six boys took part in the 5 A'side football competition at the Sands Centre on Saturday 19th January. The boys played really well and were nearly through to the Semi Finals, unfortunately the goal difference stole us of this !!
Comments were made of 'The boys playing well and supporting each other as a team' , ' The boys really enjoyed the football tournament'. We would also like to thank Mr Nicholson for helping and encouraging the boys at this tournament. We really appreciated his time. Well done Team 'Kirkbride' !!
Sportshall Athletics (Level1 ) - Year 5 and 6 - Thomlinson Secondary Sportshall, Wigton
A team of 6 girls and 6 boys went to the Sportshall Athletics on Thursday 22nd November 2018. Each member of the team had an individual athletic task to complete then some members did a track event. The team displayed some great techniques and supported each other when they were competing. It was a pleasure to watch. Well done Team Kirkbride.
Keysteps Gymnastics Competition (Level 2) - Netherhall Secondary School, Maryport
Three teams went from the school (18 children in total) to the Keysteps Gymnastics Competition at Netherhall on Friday 16th November 2018. They all looked amazing in their gymnastic wear. All the children were fantastic in all areas. They all competed like real professionals. We were also very lucky, lots of parents come and supported the teams.

Keysteps 2 - Came First in their group - so are going to the county finals to represent Allerdale in March 2019. (A first for Kirkbride Primary)

Cross Country (Level 1) KS2 Children - Wigton Infants School
Ten children from KS2 competed in the Cross Country event at Wigton Infants School on Thursday 8th November 2018. They had trained hard for this event and it paid off on the day, Our school was postioned third overall and first in the small schools catergory. Well done to all the children who competed in this event.
Tag Rugby Festival (Level1) Year 5 and 6 - Wigton Rugby Club
The whole class took part in a Tag Rugby Festival at Wigton Rugby Club on Thursday 11th October 2018. The full class made up of three teams played well and enjoyed the event. The children had coaching from Mr Thompson before the Festival and it was shown through their playing how well they had progressed in Tag Rugby. Well done Year 5 and 6 !
Tag Rugby Festival (Level 1) Year 3 and 4 - Wigton Rugby Club
The children of Year 3 and 4 competed in a Tag Rugby Festival on 27th September 2018 at Wigton Rugby Club. They all had a fun afternoon and enjoyed playing against other schools. This was a new experience for our Year 3 children as they had not competed in a Tag Rugby Festival before. The comments from them were: 'How to to be a good Sportsperson', 'It was nice to play with other people', It was fun tagging people'.
Multi Skills Festival Year 1 and 2 - Nelson Thomlinson School
All the children took part in the Multi Skills Festival at Nelson Thomlinson School on 20th September 2018. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon and they learnt some new skils and how to work as a team.
Football Competition (Level 1) - Year 5 and 6 - Nelson Thomlinson School
All of the children from Year 5 and 6 competed in the football competition on 13th September 2018 at Nelson Thomlinson School. In total there was 3 teams from the school. All teams played well. Sainsbury School Games Finals - Year 3 and 4 Short Tennis Finals Competition- Sands Centre Carlisle
Four children are competed on 11th July 2018 at the Sainsbury School Games in the short tennis competition. We were delighted as a school as this is such a great accomplishment for the children. The small team played really well and enjoyed the experience of the day. Well done TEAM KIRKBRIDE !!
Rounders Competition - Year 5 and 6 - Fellview Primary School, Caldbeck
All of Year 5 and 6 competed in a rounders competition on 23rd May 2018. Rounders is one of the children's favourite sports within our school, so they look forward to this event. We had two teams and one team came second overall. A lovely day was enjoyed by all !
Tri Golf Competition - KS2 Children - Blennerhasset/Baggrow Cricket Ground
Two teams from KS2 competed in a Tri Golf competition at Blennerhasset/Baggrow Cricket ground on 21st May 2018. Both teams enjoyed their afternoon. This competition is based on skill and accuracy, which was shown within our teams. Well done !
Allerdale Short Tennis Finals - Year 3 and 4 - Lakes College, Workington
Our winning team from the previous tennis competition competed in the Allerdale Finals at the Lakes College at Workington on 17th April 2018. The team played really well and came second in the event, therefore they go through to the Sainsbury School Games finals on 11th July 2018. WELL DONE Team Kirkbride, we are so proud of you.
Short Tennis Competition - Year 3 and 4 - Nelson Thomlison Secondary School, Wigton
Eight children took part in a short tennis competition at Nelson Thomlinson Secondary School on 21st March 2018.
This is a popular event with the children, They all played well and one of our teams are through to the Allerdale Finals on 17th April at Lakes College in Workington. We as a school are thrilled. Well done all !
Quick Sticks Year 3 and 4 - Wigton Rugby Club, Wigton
One team of six children took part in a quick sticks competition at Wigton Rugby Club 7th February 2018. This competition is a level 3 one so more Allerdale schools take part in this competition. The children played well and enjoyed their experience.
Tag Rugby Year 5 and 6 - Wigton Rugby Club, Wigton
Two teams of seven children took part in a Tag Ruby Festival on 31st January 2018. The children are familiar with this event as they have competed a few times. The children played well and battled against the cold wintery day. Well done all again who competed.
Girls Football Competition - Sands Centre, Carlisle
A squad of seven girls entered the girls football competition in the Sands Centre on Saturday 3rd February. As the boys we enter as a school annually to this competition. The girls competed against schools in the region and showed great team playing and encouragement to each other. Well done girls.
Boys Football Competition - Sands Centre, Carlisle
Seven boys from KS2 took part in a football competition in the Sands Centre in Carlisle on Saturday 27th January. The school enters this competition annually and the boys enjoy the experience. They competed against some of the smaller schools in the region. They played all of their games with great sportsmanship and worked well as a team. The just missed out in been in the semi finals!!! Well done boys!!
Sports Hall Athletics - Year 5 and 6 - The Nelson Thomlinson Secondary School, wigton
Some of the children from Year 5 and 6 took part in the Sports Hall Athletics. competition. This event takes a lot of stamina as it is a quick change over from one activity to the other. The morning was enjoyed by all the children who competed. Well done
Cross Country KS2 Children - Wigton Infants School, Wigton
Ten children competed in the Cross Country Competition at Wigton Infants on 8th November. The children were from Year 3 to Year 6. They all ran well and supported each other while doing their run. This is a hard competition to compete in, but yet again the sportsmanship was fab!
Key Steps Gymnastics Competition - Netherhall Secondary School, Maryport
Fifteen children attended the Key Steps Gymnastics Competition on the 3rd November. We had 6 children in Key Steps 1, 6 Children in Key Steps 2 and 3 Children in Key Steps 3.
The children were fantastic and performed their gymnastics as professionals. We were 3rd In Key Steps 1, 2nd In Key Steps 2 and 4th in the Key Steps 3. Well done all.
Netball Year 5 and 6 - The Nelson Thomlinson Secondary School, Wigton
A team from Year 5 and 6 competed in a High Five Netball competition on 18th October. The team played in numerous games and showed their skills netball skills. Well done to all who competed.
Multi Festival - Year Reception, Year 1 and 2 - Wigton Infants School, Wigton
Ash Class (Year Reception, Year 1 and 2) attended a Multi Festival on 27th September at Wigton Infants School. The children took part in all sorts of sporting tasks and really enjoyed their afternoon.
Football Competition Year 5 and 6 - Nelson Thomlinson Secondary School, Wigton
Two teams of boys and girls attended a football competition on 20th September 2017. Both teams played really well and were commented on their team sportsmanship. Well done to all.
