Welcome to Elm!
Spring Term News
This term has been a hive of activity in Elm class. Our topics have been ‘Rivers Mountains and Lakes’ and ‘Chocolate’ which the children have thoroughly enjoyed, these have been educational topics with lots of fun along the way. Not only have all the children participated in class but they have also wanted to participate in the homework topic projects, the children’s hard work has shone through with some very inventive and time consuming entries. Our topics have been topped off with fabulous class trips. The children have been lucky enough to go to Keswick, visiting ‘The Puzzling Place’, walk to Derwent water and a chippy dinner; also we had a trip to The Cocoabean factory at Dumfries!
We have also fit in lots of sport this term, from swimming to hockey to tennis to golf. The children have represented the school brilliantly, not only showing off their skill but also their sportsmanship. A couple of highlights for me have been, having Belle the lamb join our class for the day, it was a big responsibility but we all survived and the children learning the recorder, playing hot cross buns in church for our Easter service and an amazing rendition of Abba’s ‘Mamma Mia’ in an assembly for the whole school.
You’ve made me so proud this term Elm Class, Keep up the fabulous work!
