Welcome to Ash!
Autumn Term Class News 2017
This half term Ash Class have enjoyed carrying on with our topic ‘The Bear Necessities’. They have loved the story ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’ and can all re-tell the story with actions. They did a fantastic performance of the story for Kirkbride Play Group when they visited the Early Years Unit. We have written our own versions of the story and added in our own ideas.
In maths we have been working so hard on the calculations of multiplication (lots of...) and division (sharing or grouping...) We have had lots of fun using our outdoor area for maths and numbers too. We have been busy building cars for bears and playing in the Three Bears Cottage.
In Geography the children have enjoyed learning about hot and cold places linked to the equator. They can name the seven continents and can sing a song about the five oceans of the world.
In science the children have been learning about different bears and how they are adapted to their habitats. They have all made a Bears Fact book. The class have produced some amazing art work linked to bears. All of the activities have developed their drawing and colouring skills.
In R.E. the children have been thinking about different ways of praying and why people pray. This has lead nicely into ‘the Christmas Story’ which the children re-told in our School Performances. The children sang so well and we are all super proud of Ash Class!
